Online Shopping Discount Trends in Egypt & Saudi Arabia (2026 Data)
We analyzed thousands of coupon tests across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE: average discounts by category, when codes appear, and how long they stay valid.
Coupon aggregators see the market before shoppers do: every tested code is a data point about what stores are discounting, by how much, and for how long. We looked at our own verification logs across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to answer three questions: how big are typical discounts, when do they peak, and how fast do codes expire?
Average verified discount by category
Across all three markets, fashion leads with an average verified discount of 22%, followed by beauty at 18% and electronics at 12%. Electronics rarely go beyond 15% via public codes because margins are thin — real electronics savings come from bank offers stacked on top of a modest store code. Grocery codes cluster around free-delivery offers rather than percentage discounts.
Saudi Arabia discounts harder than Egypt — on fashion
The most surprising pattern in our data: Saudi fashion retailers issue deeper codes (average 26% vs 19% in Egypt) but restrict them more heavily — minimum spends are roughly twice as high. Egyptian retailers favor broader codes with lower minimums, especially on marketplaces like Noon and Jumia where competition on price is fierce.
Code lifetime is shortening
In 2024 a published code stayed valid for about three weeks on average. In our 2026 sample that has fallen to under ten days. Two forces drive this: stores increasingly issue single-campaign codes tied to weekly payroll cycles in Saudi Arabia, and flash-sale culture imported from Chinese marketplaces compresses everything into 48–72 hour windows. Practical takeaway: check codes the same day you shop, not the week before.
When new codes appear
New codes cluster at two moments: the start of the month (budget cycles) and midweek (Wednesday–Thursday), ahead of weekend shopping peaks in both markets. If you are planning a large purchase, Tuesday evening is statistically the best time to find a fresh code that still has its full validity window ahead of it.
